CP’s Market Manager Emma Ball talks to Isabel Johnson of Dukeshill Ham Company about her

Dukeshill

views on print.

Dukeshill was founded over thirty years ago, with a vision of producing the very best hams, cured the “old fashioned” way for a discerning public and print has always been important to their brand in order to communicate to their customers in a timely way.

I understand you have recently received the Dukeshill Christmas 2017 brochure with its spectacular gold foil finish. Can you tell me in your own words why you chose this particular finish and are you pleased with the end result?

At Dukeshill we believe in producing wonderful food and our uncompromising attitude towards quality means we still only use the finest quality products. Our brochure showcases these superb products so we believe our brochures are of utmost importance to our branding. This year we wanted to be better than ever and chose the gold foiling to represent just how passionate we are about quality and commitment to our brand. We are more than pleased with the end result and we hope our customers are too!

Can you also elaborate on why you chose PCP over other printers?

We have used PCP for a number of years and have developed a strong relationship with the team. We believe they have produced the finest quality print on each of our campaigns and are always willing to provide advice and support.

Why is it so important your catalogue is printed, when there are so many accessible digital platforms?

We have always been a mail order business and we believe the brochure enables us to communicate with our customers well.

Almost all of our oldest, most loyal customers still send their orders in the post. Who wouldn’t like to receive a beautiful catalogue full of the finest foods through their letter box?

Do you think social media will eventually replace printed catalogues and brochures?

No, we believe direct mail is still robust in the marketing industry – it certainly is for Dukeshill!

And finally what is your favourite quote?

Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus (Never tickle a sleeping dragon)
